One Crazy Day...

Well, it has been a wild night and a crazy day...Max started throwing up last night at 9, then at 1 charlie came in my room (which he NEVER does ) and had gigantic welts? all over his entire body and was crying and scratching, so needless to say I was up the ENTIRE night back and forth with the 2 of them....soooo, that meant no party today for Maxi and he was terribly sad. I did however, go to Charlies school to help with his party and we had a wonderful time:) Below is a pic of my Charlie today(no, we are not Georgia fans, we are Tennessee fans)...

Then, after all of the partying, while we were in the playroom, mom and I were crying we were laughing so hard....my very commanding Lucy decided that she wanted Charlie to be "her baby" and she FORCED (yes, my 3 year old made my 7 year old--you would just have to see it!) him to participate in taking a bottle and also getting his diaper changed. It was sooo funny...she really loves him and he obviously adores her...here she is, this is the happy look she has when she gets her way...

Charlie getting his diaper changed--what a good sport!!

They really are sweet together....

Hope you all are well and have a wonderfully fun weekend!

Ecuador On My Mind....

I am finally getting the hang of some of my computer stuff and figured out how to make a video of my recent trip to Ecuador in June this year...I think you can only view it the size that it is...I am working on being able to make it full screen....I know it is probably so easy, but I am learning:) Hey, I figured out how to put a song with it too, so I am not doing too terribly:) (You will have to pause my playlist...the black box at the very bottom of my blog--so you don't hear 2 songs at the same time!!!) The song speaks for itself and I think it was written for me for this trip...because 'once your eyes are opened (Proverbs 24:12)'...you are challenged.....This trip was just another one of the pieces in our adoption puzzle..this took things to another level for me in many ways and these people have my heart....In a split second with that first touch, the mother in me just erupted and I felt overwhelmingly protective of those precious lives. I pretty much had to be ripped away from there and from those precious babies...it was a pain I had not experienced before because it was a nauseating ache for people that I didn't know, that weren't a part of me and were worlds apart from how I live everyday...even as I am typing this my heart is breaking all over again and I can barely see for the tears. But, that is just how God's love is...it touches you in ways you didn't even know were possible...

Not so much to blog about today...my mother was home from work sick, the little ones didn't have MMO, it was raining and yucky outside and then, around 1:30, I got a call from my Charlie's school saying he was sick....with the STOMACH VIRUS! Now, for anyone of you who knows me and my germophobicness, the SV is extremely serious and cultivates much fear in my head...but I have been working on that part of me and (thanks to my trip to Ecuador this summer, which helped me face alot of my fears), I now am not so scared by it. My new take on the SV is---well, probably at most we will be down for about a week or so, but at least it is something that we can get over...it could be worse:) WOW, God is even helping me out on the small stuff:) So, wish us well! I am praying God's protection around us all:)

Ok, so I think I have finally figured out how to post a video!!! Yay for me!!! This is one of the many, but probably THE video that touched my heart the most during the journey of the past year and a half as we have struggled to answer the call that God has placed in our hearts for adoption...thank you, Kristi, for opening up your lives to others....God is using it for HIS glory!Double click on the video to watch it full screen...
Open up your heart & be blessed,

The Big Carving!!

Well, we FINALLY carved all of our pumpkins...I don't know why, but for some reason we procrastinate the "carving" every year!! Maybe it is because deep down inside, I don't like putting my whole arm into a bowl of pumpkin junk or maybe it is because Charlie is all but dry heaving the whole time we are digging out the insides or it could just be all of the bickering about whose pumpkin is whose or whose pumpkin is the best....oh my!! BUT, it is just one of those things you procrastinate...then, when you finally do it---IT IS SO MUCH FUN & there is lots of laughing & a ton of silliness...oh, and my favorite part is putting the candles inside and getting them all lined up...in the end, it makes for some great memories, and I wouldn't trade that for anything!!

Yes, Charlie insisted that we all make our scariest faces..Charles really disturbed me with how much he got into this one!!

We are VERY serious pumpkin-carvers...

There was alot of silliness going on, especially with Max & Lucy!

The finished product...happy, happy kiddos...

This one is so you can see the glow!!

Happy Pumpkin Carving,

GO VOLS!!

Charles and I took Charlie and Max to the Tennessee/Alabama game today. Max was cracking us up this morning when we were getting ready to leave--he kept saying he was not going. Finally, after pretty much refusing to get dressed he says "can't you just tell me who wins when you get back?" I mean, what kid wouldn't want to go to the game??? Anyway, we made him go (poor thing) and he had a ball! We all did....We thought we were going to freeze, but we ended up sweaty and burnt!! The boys were bummed because "nobody was scoring touchdowns", so with a few minutes left in the game we decided to leave....when we were almost out of the stadium, we heard that AL had fumbled, so we went back and stood in the AL student section until TN scored...then, right before "the kick" we sprinted back to our original seats in the TN section so we would be sure to be in the middle of the big party that was about to occur....well, I guess we all know how that turned out!! So, we really left after that and Charlie says "oh no, now this is where it gets bad...we are about to get yelled at!!" But, we didn't!! All in all, it was a fun family day, although we really missed our LuLu:) She spent the day with her Nanny (as she says)...they shopped, ate, watched movies and painted fingernails...it was a great day other than giving Alabama a victory!!

Here we are after eating at Qdoba...

My serious Charlie...he is hard core...

Max singing Rocky Top...

My sweet boys! I am enjoying this time that they will still hold hands...

Here we are all running as fast as we can to see "the kick"...I am running while trying to get a picture at the same time!

Hope you all have had a great Saturday!

Parkview Pumpkin Patch or BUST!!

This morning me, Max & Lucy worked at our church's Pumpkin Patch from 9-11:00! I think we got in 1800 pumpkins a few weeks ago and more than half are already gone!!! We had fun finding all of the bad ones "with yucky pumpkin guts" and moving them to the side!! Max and Lucy just thought that was awesome, although it was a little gross! It was a BEAUTIFUL day with absolutely perfect weather and it felt so good just to be outside enjoying it with the kiddos!! Joey (our student pastor) was there with us and he & Max threw the football all morning. It made Max's day, because he said before we left our house "I don't want to go and take my football, cause Lucy can't catch!!!" He was not happy this morning but when Joey showed up, he saved the day! He even let Max play a game or two on his phone!! It was a great day and we've had fun doing all of the "Pumpkin" stuff the past 2 days:)

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho to the Pumpkin Patch We Go!!!

Look at my SWEET Lucy Lu---isn't she an angel!!!! As for Charlie & Max, lets just say they weren't really 'into' getting any pictures, so this is about the best I have to post!! Well, today was the first time in the history of the Morrison family, that we were ALL able to go to the Pumpkin Patch together as a family! Charles took off of work, we checked Charlie out of school and grabbed Max and Lucy and headed to Lyon's Family Farm in Tennessee!! It was beautiful weather and we had soooo much fun...a hayride, storytime, corn maze, petting zoo and, of course, the Pumpkin Patch! Had to get a family photo to commemorate the big day and, as usual, Lucy was posing it up!

I know, I know....

Ok, so I know I don't know what in the world I am doing....and, I know that I don't really have time for a blog. I don't even have time to NOT put my makeup on in the car (only at stop lights, don't worry)....and, I know that there isn't a whole lot that I really have to say right now----well, I do have alot to say, but I am not very articulate when saying it. Plus, I know I swore that I'd never have a blog.....BUT, what I DO know is....that my heart has been touched by a blog or two (got to figure out how to post those) and that God has used those blogs to further remove some 'scales' from my eyes about orphans and adoption and if there is even a teeny tiny glimmer of hope that my experience could somehow touch someone else's life like mine has been touched, then I know that BLOG, I MUST!! This is the very, very beginning of our sweet leap of faith and I have to say that we are super excited about what God is up to!!
