Why Not???

I have not been able to get "Tripp" off of my mind all morning, so I am going to post this:

"Tripp is a very polite child and calls the caretakers "Auntie or Uncle" all the time. He is very smart, curious and shows his interests in many things. He is a very active boy and loves to play with his friends. He loves taking care of the younger kids. Tripp is able to take care of himself well such as dress himself up and etc. Now he stays with 10 other kids in a big room and he treats all kids very friendly. Whenever his friends were being adopted, he will show envy and ask when would be his turn. He always shows his eagerness to meet his parents (adopter). He has a very positive attitude towards being adopted and always answers YES whenever he was asked if he is willing to be adopted."

This is the write up about the precious little boy I posted about here. Time is running out and soon his file will be returned to the CCAA.

I know that the thought of adopting can be overwhelming. Trust me, I thought of a million reasons why "I can't"...but when looked at the reasons "why not?", they were all selfish reasons. And believe me, some of my reasons were pretty stinkin selfish!!! Are you too busy, too settled, too old, too young, too satisfied with your life, too broke, too scared, is your life too perfect??? I BEG you to ask God if He would have YOU adopt this little boy. He sounds amazing and deserves a chance....God WILL work out the details.

Our agency is wonderful...for more information about our agency and 'Tripp', click here (Tripp is on the list of Waiting Children).

Please feel free to contact me about him as well and I will get you in touch with someone that can answer all of your questions.

With a heavy heart,

  2. Lisa, the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) has, in the past, had what are called the individual lists (list of children given only to a specific agency for a given amount of time; also referred to as 'agency lists'. If a child is on this list, they are only on that list and the agency has a set amount of time to find a family for that child. If in that time, a family has not started the adoption process for that child, their file is returned to the CCAA) and shared lists (a list of children released by the CCAA every 4-6 weeks, on average. This 'shared list' is released and all agencies participating in the 'shared list' has access to the same list. The kids that are not matched are on that cumulative shared list waiting for a family. Our agency has a specific person with access to the list and she stays up late or gets up early at the time of the release and matches families based on their information given.) From what I understand, there are close to 1000 kids on the shared list. The individual lists are usually a handful to about 20 kids that the agency will have for a few months. This list that Tripp is on, will be returned to the CCAA April 21st. On Hold means that someone is reviewing his file!! That is excellent news!!!!! Maybe he will have a family soon!!! I personally feel like kids have a better chance on an individual/agency list...there is a picture and description. Once on the shared list, I feel like it would be easier to get lost in the shuffle. Kids age out of the orphanages at 14, I believe. That is, outta here, on the street, bye bye, have a good life....It is so sad and many of them commit suicide, end up prostituting, or being trafficked at a time when they should be being kids with a mom and daddy that loves them and will let them enjoy childhood. Sorry I was so unclear in my post...this might have only made it worse...let me know if I need to clarify further!! Have a great day!! Jennifer
