Finally, we have plans...

WOW! All of the travel stuff was alot to think about when it came right down to it, but I think we have pretty much gotten it all squared away....here is a quick run-down...basically the highlights...

November 3rd, Wednesday: we leave and head to Beijing
November 7th, Sunday: get to her province
November 8th, Monday: get Alice:)
November 11th, Thursday: visit her orphanage
November 15th, Monday: consulate appt (CA)
November 18th, Thursday: train to Hong Kong
November 21st, Sunday afternoon: back home:)

Of course, the days we are in China, there is the time difference, but as a whole, this is the schedule, minus the little details....man, this is so exciting...trying to prioritize....trying to tell myself that it is not important if the house and van are spotless...that is ridiculous, but I do want to come home to a clean slate, you know....anyway, the countdown begins....:)

  1. I was just looking at your timeline on the side and noticed you will get Alice exactly 9 months to the day of her referral. How awesome! Can't wait to follow your journey. Relax and try to have a good time! It's the trip of a lifetime! Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you get ready.

    Blessings,

  2. Wow! We are so so excited for you- this is going to be an awesome journey to your precious new daughter. You are blessed, and Alice is blessed. Congratulations, and in just a few days, you will SO KNOW the wait was worth it! God's hand is so very much in every step of this process, and now you are FINALLY almost to that first sweet hug!!

    Love you!

  3. To say we are happy for you is an understatement. PLEASE don't worry about the stuff that will wait for you when you return. WE DID THAT and got here beyond exhausted and almost sick. Yes my car was spotless when I left and all of Luke's clothes were laid out for every day... but you know what .... it didn't matter. The more than capable hands you are leaving Max and Lucy in can handle it all. The dirt and dust will wait. REMEMBER A PRIORITY FOR YOU IS TO KEEP YOU WELL & CHARLES! So, don't worry. (Easier said than done but I can promise you that cheerios on the van floor don't matter). Being healthy for your new daughter does! That means both mentally, physicall and emotionally! Hugs my dear friend. We are off to the zoo today and then we pack for HONG KONG DISNEY!

  4. At last, at last! I am so excited!!!!! Call me if you have any questions about anything... I can't wait to see you and Charles with Alice! We took entirely too much luggage, so I would encourage you to pack light. There are very few things that we have in the U.S., that you can't buy at the Friendship store or Trustmart. I'm just thrilled for ya'll... it is an adventure of lifetime. :)
