How Can We Help Haiti???

I will be very honest...I have been in a huge, very emotional funk since the earthquake in Haiti...I am worried sick about Calvin and still haven't heard anything regarding where or how he is. I KNOW that it is going to take time...but, sorry, that isn't going to make me think about him any less. All this gets my mind going about adoption....What if Calvin is orphaned? What if he needs a family after all this? Of course, if Calvin were orphaned---we want him!!!!! What about all of the orphans in Haiti now?? How can WE help Haiti?? Should we look into adopting from there??? So, long story short, after a rough day yesterday, I got some information from a friend about potential orphans being brought into a church that they had contact with. So, I called this morning to find out more information. After much calling, prayer and research, what I found out is that they did pass the Humanitarian Parole Act and that most of the kids being brought in and adopted were families that WERE ALREADY IN PROCESS of adopting from Haiti...yes, many children will be brought to the United States for medical care, but from what I have found out, at this time, with all of the disarray in Haiti, there is no way to know if the children truly are orphans. After things calm down and get more stable and they begin to get back on their feet and can figure out who is alive and who is not and after they find out if there are family members that are looking for children, then who actually is an orphan can be assessed and this could take a very long time. Basically, Haiti can't just ship a bunch of kids to the US and adopt them out without knowing if they have any family members that want them. So, today, I am feeling at peace about continuing through with our China SN adoption, knowing that God is sovereign in ALL things and He has brought us to where we are for a reason. I have to be honest, the past few days, I have really been toiling over it, thinking that Haiti was in need of families NOW to take kids. If that was what they needed, I was open to it, but as I am researching, I am finding that is NOT what they need. God may very well use this situation in Haiti to speak to your heart and He may be stirring your heart to adopt---if HE is......LISTEN!!! He has a funny way of using one situation or a series of situations to get you to the place that He can move in your life. There are orphans ALL over the world in need of a family. He may even be calling YOU to HAITI and if He is, then that will happen in HIS timing...but if you are burdened and you are asking HOW CAN WE HELP HAITI NOW?????
