We Are "Paperchasing"

I know I haven't posted alot on our adoption because, in my opinion, usually when you announce you are adopting, you have pretty much worked through all of what we have been working through the past few months...the when, where from, how old, what sex, what agency..you know, all that stuff. Well, for us, like I said in an earlier post, it just hasn't been that easy, so OUR first step of faith actually came by saying out loud to our friends and Sunday School class (in a nut shell), "We feel called to adoption....we ARE adopting. We have no idea what in the world we are doing yet but we are doing this and trusting God to fill in the never-ending blanks. We need prayer for guidance!!" So, you see, the BIG miracle is that we got over OURselves and OUR plans and are moving over and letting God take us where He wants us to go---WE ARE ADOPTING!!!! Oh how I just want to shout it from the rooftops!!! That is sooooo crazy!! And I am SOOOO excited to see what God has in store for our family. We need your prayers...that we will focus on Him and listen as He guides us through this precious process. Ok, Ok, so point of the post is (and I know I have got to go back and do some explaining, but for tonight, it is so late and I am sooo getting sick) we filled out our application, personal testimonies and faith statements tonight and that will be put in the mail tomorrow to Lifeline Adoption Agency for their China Special Needs program and the paperwork begins. I will go back and fill you in on how we came to this decision, but for now, gotta get some rest...here are our tired selves after about 2 hours of questions and writing...lovely...but we did have some yummy Russian Tea to help us through. Charles' mom ALWAYS made this and passed it out to us and all of her friends at Christmas time. I will have to post the recipe...it is perfect for the cold or when you have cold!!! She is greatly missed!

I am going to try to get some sleep! Can't believe we are actually starting!!!!

  1. Hello Jennifer!
I found your blog through Ashley Fairley's blog (isn't her Mia a DOLL?). I'm so excited about your family's decision to adopt a child from China's Waiting Child list. I look forward to following your journey to China. Your family is just BEAUTIFUL!

  2. Jennifer, I HAD to find this post. One year later, you are home with Alice and all 4 of your kids are under your roof today. We sign January 1 with our agency - my dream is to have her home next Christmas. I just had to see tangible proof that it happened for you, too. I am so grateful you have a blog! THANKS!!!
