Orphan Prayer Tea
Yesterday, at our church, the Women's Ministry held an Orphan Prayer Tea (November 7th)...and let me just tell you, it was SO good!! I have to at least let you know just how good God is...He writes our days long before we give certain things a thought....the way that He orchestrated this very day was unbelievable...not only had He been working in different people's hearts concerning the Orphan Care Ministry over the past 2 years, but over a year ago, the date for the Prayer Tea was put on the church calendar. Last year, the tea was to pray for the Muslim Women...they put yesterday's date on the calendar and as the date got closer, they were praying about what the topic would be. As God was drawing several of us together with a passion for Orphans, we attended the Together for Adoption Conference. When we returned, I was talking to Darla, who is one of the ones in charge of the tea...She asked how the conference went..I said, It was wonderful and I think we are going to work toward launching the new Orphan Care Ministry on Orphan Care Sunday, which is coming up Novemeber 8th. She said, well, we have the Prayer Tea scheduled for the 7th and I have been praying about what to do it on...and, of course, I said immediately..well, it HAS to be prayer for the Orphans...so, the rest was history. God is sooo good...He knew all along how that tea we would use to pray for the orphans and gear up for the launch of the Orphan Care Ministry and Orphan Sunday!! I am sooo glad my steps are ordered by the Lord! I had the honor of speaking briefly and sharing my heart at the tea...it was such an intimate time of prayer and I am so excited about what God has in store..They set up stations for each "area" of what life in an orphanage is like....bedtime, mealtime, playtime, hygiene and clothing....then, we went to each station and prayed specifically for that time in the orphan's day. It was unbelievable....just to think that those precious babies have no one to tuck them in, no one to comfort them if they have a bad dream, their tummies aren't full, they may not be warm...the list goes on and on...and what about that sweet mommies touch when a child is sick...it is nauseating....but God is stirring up compassion in hearts and he is filling individuals with a passion for the orphan and it is so exciting to be able to be a part. We had some technical difficulties yesterday, so I was unable to play this video...I am posting it for you to view....I thought it was perfect for the tea. I cannot wait for tomorrow---the first annual Orphan Sunday!!! Before playing the video, go to the bottom of my blog and pause my playlist, then double click on the video, so you can see the full picture!!
First of all, I love Jesus with ALL of my heart! He is so faithful no matter what our circumstances have been. All I want is to live the life that He would have me live and to make a difference in this world for Him. I am a full-time stay at home mom of 3 beautiful kids..Charlie, Max and Lucy! I have been married to my wonderful husband, Charles for 10 years and our family is more than I ever dreamed I would have! God has blessed us so much! He is so faithful and He gets all of the glory:)
“We have been blessed with so much, yet too often we squander these blessings on our personal pursuits without a thought that God gives us these things to use for his Kingdom. Yet I believe the adoption of orphans is one of the greatest opportunities today for fulfilling the Great Commission. When children are received into families where they are introduced to the Savior, and grow up in a secure and loving environment, they are positioned to meet and experience the living God in a tangible way.”

...if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. Matt 17:20
Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me. Mark 9:37
...once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act. Proverbs 24:12
