Another Wonderful Day

Last night could not have gone better if i had planned it....after we ate Papa Johns and gave her a bath it was time for bed....I was dreading it, because i just knew she would get upset...I got her ready and laid her in the crib, then we all went and got in bed and I laid down and waited...and waited....and waited for the crying...and it never came. She immediately went to sleep and slept all night. We all got up and I got a shower before she ever woke up, she was just snoring away. It was great! Today, we went back to the Civil Affairs office and did the paperwork that made her adoption final. She did beautifully! She has smiled and laughed all day. She only really gets sad when we come back to the hotel room for whatever reason. She says one certain word and gets teary...as soon as I pick her up, she is over it. We took her to the park today and she had a ball. She is very friendly and is always waving. Yesterday, I posted quickly and was not thinking straight, but I will have to tell you that the funniest thing happened. Charlie and I took her to this place on our hotel floor, like an executive lounge, where you can get snacks and stuff - the ladies gave her something to eat and drink...she ate a little and then hopped up to explore and before I knew what happened, she dropped her pants in about one millisecond and peed right in the floor...I was trying to clean it up as fast as I could before anyone saw me or any guests walked in, but man it was a big puddle...luckily, we cleaned it up and no one knew the difference...she tried to do it one more time, but I caught her and took her to the potty, she has done great with it since then....it was crazy. She has the sweetest personality and the most angelic little voice...she loves to look at pictures...especially of herself. They told me to call her Hua Hua (wha wha) and she will point to herself in every single picture and say Hua Hua. We cut her fingernails, I think for the first time ever...I am going to try to post the video of her naming each of us, I hope it works. Either way, I will post some pictures. She is really warming up to us..pray tonight goes as well as the last. Tomorrow, she is going to the doctor, not sure yet how many shots, we will see....thanks for the prayers..they are working and this dream is coming true in the most wonderful way....

  2. Wow... I am so happy for you! Things are going great and I am sure they will continue to! See you made it to the 'other side of the street'. Interesting and a nice view of culture's many faces. I am so glad you got the suite. If we had the chance we would have jumped on it. Maran got a little teary in our room at times too. I think they did very well in explaining to them what was going on but still reality for a small child is so confusing. You are doing such a great job! We are SO ENJOYING following your updates and know that we are praying for you and praising all that is going on! Sweet dreams my dear friend! Hugs -- Ann

  3. Oh and Maran dropped trou beside the pool. We caught her in time. That's the way they do it there. I am sure since you made it to the other side of the street that you possibly saw many doing it on the street. What a change!

  5. We had that same experience with Meilynn in our Hotel room. We decided on pull-ups for the plane just to play it safe! Alice has a beautiful smile. Make sure you tape the word she is saying and write it down how it sounds so you will not forget.
