Today was a new day, much different from the previous one, praise the Lord. Although I was cross-eyed and delirious Sunday, and cried until no tears were left, we decided to stay up and go to bed at the regular time..around 10:00 (which turned out to be just the thing we needed to do)...we all slept until 7:30 am and I woke up today, got a shower, and we all went to cracker barrel. It was fun, everyone ate and I worked on getting the suitcases unpacked and that took forever. The kids had fun and I hate to say it, but when we got home Sunday, we didn't even pick up the camera and missed some awesome pictures. All of the kids went outside and played with Charles while i dozed in and out of consciousness...it was the FIRST TIME she has not gone nutso if I am not glued to her...it was a pleasant surprise. I think there are enough kids here to keep her busy and she seemed to take right to Max and Lucy. Lucy wants to hug her 1000 times an hour and kiss her just as much...when she is not compliant, Lucy cries and that has been hard for her to understand that Alice is an independent girl. One time this afternoon, Alice wouldn't hug her and Lucy sat and cried and said...I don't like my sister anymore. She just wants to be touching her at all times and Alice is good with it 90% of the time. Its just that other 10%. I know Lucy's world has been rocked and I am doing everything I can to make things go smoothly. She is just all about Alice. I explained that she is a little grumpy sometimes because she misses her friends and we have to take time with her so that she can learn all about her new family and home. I know it will take time and I am praying that I can parent them all wisely. All in all, I am excited to say that I felt really good today and am hoping that somehow, we made it through the jetlag remotely unscathed. Time will tell. We headed to Walmart around 4:30 and mom went with us...it was a good experience...she likes to ride in the van and the grocery buggy...I considered it success and felt pretty good that we got something done. All in all it was a great day....I am already praying about tonight...
Here are some cute pictures I took today...
